THANK YOU…THANK YOU All So much for All your kindness and generosity. minutes to read this in your spare time. I want to explain the reason behind why we have selected this foundation as our family’s chosen charity. A few months ago our dad has diagnosed as being at the early stages of dementia. Additionally he’s been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and is delusional. As you can imagine it is a heartbreaking situation for us and it is very hard to know what is best for him. We never imagined this would happen to our father and it has torn our familyapart with worry and guilt because we don’t know what we have to doHe has refused any suggestions to take him to see a specialist doctor for consultation. He has displayed unpredictable mood swings combined with aggressive behaviour. He is physically fit and healthy……so to cut a long story short. we have found this Non-Profit KSJ Foundation Based in Cianjur, West – Java Indonesia. A wonderful man; a retired teacher, Mr Nurhamid is a co-founder of Istana KSJ Foundation. His kindness and willingness together with a loving and caring team have assisted him with this project to give help and rescue without any expectations in return. Some of the volunteers are ex-patients themselves. We did some research, on hospitals and other places that would accommodate our dad and we finally came to a decision to contact KSJ. We are pleased that we have found the right place for our dad, where he is currently receiving his treatment. It will be a long road to recovery, but we are optimistic he will get better and he has already shown some progress within a few days.Mr Nurhamid has said to us not to put the place as 5* but the service is certainly 5*. This is the kind of treatment that we want for our dad to help him to get his life back to normal and have a quality life again. Istana KSJ has up to now rescued more than 268 patients from shackles. In total he has helped 2000 patients with other sufferers. Some of them have been able to return to their families and a lead a normal life back in their own community where they have regained a certain level of ability, dignity and independence. KSJ Financially is funded by reliance on donations……50% of which is funded by patient’s family like mine, and the other 50% relies on other outside donations, because they (KSJ) CAN’T afford and fund it themselves. This is a wake-up call for all of us, My family and with help of dearest friends, aim to support KSJ with their program and campaign, We want to send a LOUD AND CLEAR message of AWARNESS across Indonesia and the world regarding schizophrenia and other mental health issues. There are many sufferers incarcerated in shackles or another word ‘Pasung’. raised a staggering the amount of £1800 For Istana KSJ. It was a great Success.
